Anyone have the lineup for the 2010 WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7 concert in the Georgia Dome? I hear that it is still being put together. Any chance of getting Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at the concert?

Dude, what you are smoking? Citadel is on the verge of bankruptcy do you think they are worried about a frigging concert? Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr seriously what are you smoking?

Easy now.......... perhaps you are new to the Atlanta scene and don`t know about the powerful history of Randy and Spiff and the Ultimate Oldies Concert. First held back in 1989 in the old Fulton-County Stadium and later in the Georgia Dome and other venues in Atlanta, the finest in Rock and Roll History have performed there over the years including Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Gary Puckett, Fats Domino, Wilson Pickett, Rascals, Lovin` Spoonful, Herman`s Hermits, Supremes, Mary Wells, etc.... The Ultimate Oldies Concert in Atlanta has a very rich history here. It is just the thing that Citadel needs to do to improve its` local markets.

THIS JUST IN. THE SURVIVING BEATLES WILL RE-UNITE AT THE 106.7 WYAY TRUE OLDIES CONCERT THIS SUMMER THANKS TO THE POWER OF RANDY AND SPIFF. THE POWER OF...........HOW HYSTERICAL.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

If I had the money I'd open about 10 McDonald's. I'd make a bunch of money. But I don't have the money. It takes money to make money, and sometimes you have to forgo opportunities because you don't.

Remember, if you don't owe anyone anything, you can't go bankrupt. Cash flow matters. And Citadel owes a bunch of people a bunch.

(as an aside, I should have sold my CDL when DIS spun it off. Too late now...)

What is Citadel`s business plan??? Why did they buy a ton of radio stations from ABC Radio when they don`t have the proper cash flow???? In Atlanta, Kicks Country and True Oldies are doing pretty good. Citadel should dump under performing stations in other markets that aren`t making money. GREED most likely came in to play here when Citadel bought more stations than they could afford. Local owners should get back involved with the Atlanta radio scene.

Of course it was greed, and it wasn't just Citadel. They bought a bunch of Stations because, at the time, they thought it would work. Think about it this way: If you're a big radio group you can theoretically strip down a whole bunch of your stations, pipe programming in from elsewhere (because all the research seems to show people like the big name hosts anyhow), and save on payroll (generally a huge dent in your budget). And EVERYBODY listens to radio, right? It's a captive market. You can't lose...

A whole lot of Radio Groups overstretched their grasp... working on the assumption that Radio Stations ALWAYS pull in money. There was a lot of "if you build it, they will come" mentality in the earlier part of this decade, assuming that Radio Stations had rabid fan bases and you didn't really need to do anything about it. You had a lot of people who bought into the business of radio, not the radio business. Combine that with rampant deregulation and you get a hell of a bubble.

Of course... bubbles burst - That's what they do.

Now add in changing demographics, proliferation of cheap alternative technologies, a recession that crushes ad revenue for even the top-rated stations in every market, the loss of many of the big-name hosts and the rise of many other not-as-big-as-they-think-they-are-name hosts, and a slew of other things that have occured in the past decade that have quite drastically changed where Radio fits in the realm of New Media.

Citadel is just the first of what I'm sure will be several to realize that Radio a la 1996 and Radio a la 2006 just weren't the same thing.

Back to the original question, a source of mine who works for Citadle told me that the concert is a go for July 31 at the dome. The line-up will include: Connie Francis, Herman's Hermits, The Grass Roots, The Buckinghams, Ringo Starr and Friends. Scott Shannon is flying in to emcee the show. My source also said tickets will go on sale in early May.

Once again GT&GO is correct.

BTW, I have decided to be generous, when this line-up is announced, I will buy everyone on this board two tickets. GT&GO, I so want to see this amazing show in your company.

You better not be teasing me, Millman? It has been forever and a day since I saw the 60's number one hitmaker. No not Ringo of Beatles fame but the far more popular and successful Connie Francis.

BTW who is harder to tell apart Bill Pullmam and Bill Paxton or Connie Francis and Connie Stevens.

Let me know where you and GT&GO are sitting I would like to pay you a little visit.

My daughter and I will be there too. I may have to make it up with a Miley Cyrus concert, but such is fatherhood.
