Link To Lots Of Historic Airchecks, Mainly From Minneapolis/St. Paul

I have stumbled upon a website called Radio Tapes.com (htp://www.radiotapes.com).

While most of it's airchecks (which go as far back as 1924 but are mainly from the 1950's through 1980's with some more recent ones) are from stations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, you can also find a "Special Postings" page (http://www.radiotapes.com/specialpostings.html) which features radio airchecks (and some soundtracks of TV coverage) of major news events, some from networks and others from stations outside the Twin Cities area (example: Some airchecks of KNX-1070 coverage of the initial minutes after Senator Robert Kennedy was shot following his winning the 1968 California Democratic Presidential primary).

Those in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area will enjoy most of the airchecks, while those outside may enjoy the historic news coverage excerpts.

If you are interested in the history and development of early Top 40 check out all of the WDGY stuff posted there. Weegee was one of the first "Storz stations"
