Link To Video Of First CBS Bulletin On Start Of 2003 Iraq War

With the tenth anniversary of the start of Operation Enduring Freedom today (March 19th, 2013), CBS News has posted on their website the first ninety seconds of the network's coverage of the outbreak of the 2003 Iraq war, anchored by then-"Evening News" anchor Dan Rather.

You can see it at http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50143087n .

I am posting this link for historical interest, and not to make a political statement one way or the other.

The official name of the operation in Iraq by the military of the United States was actually "Operation Iraqi Freedom". "Operation Enduring Freedom" was the name of the military's operation in Afghanistan.

I remember with the CBS-TV Network giving complete coverage to the Iraq War in those early days, the NCAA basketball tournament games were moved over to ESPN

By the way, it was "Star Search 2003" (a short-lived revival of the classic 1980's talent show "Star Search"; the revival was hosted by Arsenio Hall) that got interrupted (and cut-off) for this bulletin.
