Listing The Simple Flubs Of Corpor-Rat Radio:

At what point, did you notice that the Mom & Pops had to go elsewhere?

I'm trying to figure out which "mom & pops" are you talking about. Even the local pizza parlor or hair salon is owned by some LLC. Maybe not in the woods, but if we're talking about a city like Charleston or Greenville, it's all big business.

That was in relation to my Dad passing on 11/24. All settled now.

Well,...to answer the question for Mr. Big Business--BigA: So, you can't wrap your head around "Mom & Pop" businesses....Hmmmmm? This will get you the answer: Splay-foot down the hall, and find one of the new tight skirts in sales. If she can stop filing her nails long enough, tell her you need this: When you hit your street list today, make a list of all the businesses, that wouldn't buy because the rates are too high. That list will be your "Answer", in writing.

Male chauvinist pig much?

I am really disgusted by your portrayal of women in sales. Women are as productive as sellers as men, and don't waste time on the job.

The "tight skirt" comment is as dated and inappropriate as the "loud suit" remarks about male sellers. The days of WKRP and Herb Tarlek are long, long gone... just as your on-the-air days are.

Just absolutely disgusting.

Now,...if we can examine the skinny truth here: You run 5-to-6 minutes stop-sets, but do not know why your TSL is in the septic tank? You have a written list, from "Chrissie", of the businesses she called on, that wouldn't buy because the rate was too high, and still yet do not understand why I pointed the Flub Finger at high rent/high overhead places to broadcast from....Yeah,...you seem to have it all under control. If the money gets tight, fire someone, and have one guy run the station, with the logs finalized by the bookkeeper in Bute, Montana. ...and for Mr. Ed....Chauvinist Pig?....that is Mr. Pig,...and King Hog, will work too!

Do you understand how TSL works? It sounds like you don't. As I've said before, TSL started to drop in 1989. That was when you were still on the air.

By the way, TSL is also dropping at non-commercial radio. Just like commercial radio. So it's obvious there's no connection between TSL and stop-sets. But if you can come up with another way to pay for radio besides commercials, let me know.

People don't have the time to listen to radio stations for long stretches like they used to in the 1980s. Radio has gotten expensive even in a market like Charleston. Every radio station in the Charleston market, even the crappy signals, is worth millions of dollars. There are more ads because there is more money to go around.

CC, Cumulus, Entercom and CBS probably own at least half the radio stations in this country. There is no room to toe the company line like they used to.

Well,...Mr. Ed, Your Royal A-ness, and JethroM, king of the little weenie one-liners, y'all assume that you have it all figured out.

Stand-by, while I again,...Breach your Insecurity, with this....tittle of confusion: I wasn't on the Air in 1989.

When it comes to a royal a-ness and the king of the little weenies, you're the first name I think of. (You'll notice I omitted your tittles.)

Edited words

Well, I made a mistake. It's OK. Now back to the earlier topic. Does everyone have a nickname?

Scooter was on WANS and WCKN, two stations that are gone. WROQ was averaging $3M in revenue in 1994. In 2001 they were making just $5.4M. I wonder what it bills now.

WROQ bills around $3.7 million now in a $34 million dollar total market.

In 2001 when you say they billed $5.4 million the market had $48 million in radio revenues, while in 1994 the market revenues were $28.9 million.

It seems that they consistently have around 11% of market revenues.

Well,...you Bean Counters are doin' a fair job about what was/is grossed, but let's shift from IN-come to OUT-go, and see how the Spending program is going?

First off, we know it ain't going towards Air Talent because you fired all of them. Is the Consultant drivin' a new BMW....I have heard that they Test Well! That kinda money ain't just sitting in the bank. WROQ was grossing between 238-to-247 a month in 1991, and over 250 in 1992; A Big Year!

Also, stand corrected: The Rock 101 Classic Rock format started on December 14th, 1987, under the calls of WCKN. I changed the calls Live on the Air to WROQ, in September of 1991. A few years back, some Pencilneck at WROQ launched a celebration:....A 20th Anniversary, 20-Years of Classic Rock,...and the format was 23, nearly 24 years old!
Past the point of Funny!!!!!!!
