The converse of that is true, too. The prime example is Ace & TJ. Probably one of the most transparently consultant-driven shows ever. Instead of being organic and guided by consultants like John Boy and Billy (who really have seem to have given up), Ace & TJ seem to simply repeat what's in a manual of "how to do a CHR morning show."
 
You are Right. Just because it's Local, don't make it Better nor Good. Years ago, we use to go through them, and if they didn't Gel,....and it was obvious, we would let them go, and a few weeks later, they would surface somewhere out West. The same can be said for a good PM Drive. It's a different Animal, but you can't just plug someone in, and Pray! Also, the two Drives are were the songs get toasted the worst. For Oldies, and/or AC, Bill Love does well. His Charisma is there, and it can not be Compromizzzzzzzzzed. He might not work too well on other formats today, but he truly knows how to Host! He was the Afternoon Drive for the very first ROCK 101, WCAC-FM,...in 1977.
