LIte FM Has Best Ratings Ever (Outside of Holiday Season)

The latest overall ratings for WLTW are 8.6. According to RadioInsight, this is the best the station has ever done, other than during the times they play only Christmas music. This seems to be quite an achievement in a market with so many other stations, which is becoming increasingly ethnic,
Have there been stations in New York that have had higher ratings, during the PPM era?

Remember, AC stations that play all or mostly English language music are common and top billers throughout Latin America.

Q104.3 saw its longtime morning host, Jim Kerr, celebrate his 50th year on NYC radio. He started in 1974 on legendary rock station WPLJ doing mornings. Kerr even had a 45 minute conversation with Howard Stern, simulcast on Q104.3 and on Stern's Sirius XM broadcast. He also spoke on the air with other noted DJs such as Scott Shannon and Ryan Seacrest, who wished him well.

While Q104.3 has been strong the last few months, this event may have helped it stay at #2. In the past, the station moves up and down between #2 and #6.

Will someone be posting the Demo Graphic Breakdown this month ? I always look forward to that.
That would put Lite's superb 6+ share in perspective. It's a certainty that the deeper numbers will skew heavily female, but if there are too many 55+ women listening, an adjustment may be in order.

The top five slots on the 25-54 chart were relatively unchanged from last month, but four of the five stations had down books. WHTZ moved back up to #1, which displaced its cluster mate as WLTW had to step down to #2. WKTU repeated at #3, while SBS Spanish Tropical WSKQ (MEGA 97.9) was back at #4 with its fifth consecutive up book. WAXQ remained at #5.

WLTW was #1 18-34 for the eleventh straight survey and hit double digits for the eighth time during that span. WSKQ was up three places to #2 with its best showing in over a year, yet it still trailed the leader by about four and a half shares. WHTZ remained at #3 as it ended a solid two-book surge, while WAXQ repeated at #4 with a down book. WKTU fell from #2 to #5. The stations at #2 through #5 were all within a half share of each other.

Though it was off slightly, WLTW cruised to its second consecutive 18-49 victory. WHTZ fell a bit further off the base while maintaining its hold on the #2 position. WSKQ moved up to #3 with its highest score in over a year, while WKTU dipped to #4 with a modest decrease. WAXQ stepped down to #5 with its first down book since DECEMBER.

Thanks so much I appreciate it 😊

Q104’s performance as of late is impressive, and they’ve clearly taken a lead over CBS-FM.
Very interesting to see given the demographics of the market and the playlist composition of WCBS-FM. Playlist at CBS leaning too new for some listeners? Though they're still top 5 6+ and likely top 10 in the sales demos, so tough to say they made the wrong choice to move the playlist where they did.

Just so wierd in 25-54 Z100 is #1 & WLTW #2
But in 18-34 WLTW is #1 & Z100 is #3
Think it would be the oppo but must because of the morning show.

Z100 doing a ton of promo for Taylors new album thats out tomorrow
Cant hurt as it seemed they did get a bump doing same stuff when her Eras concert was here in NJ last may.

For those of you keeping score, iHeart has four of the top five stations 25-54 and 18-34, and the entire top three 25-54. That, folks, is a Goddamn masterclass in devising musical lanes, and not having your stations cannibalize each other.

One wonders, in the era of monitored airplay, how so many other groups are so awful at executing what, at this point, is a core fundamental of music radio programming.

Ill admit lite FM has the most variety but the commercial breaks are brutal. During Christmas time it was close to 9 minutes compared to CBSfm at half of that and less frequent breaks
