Exactly. The concept is interesting and the music is OK. But White Bread, the board op, seems completely devoid of talent and personality, and is just another annoying interruption leading into insanely long stopsets. Never thought I'd be advocating VT instead of live local talent. But anything would be better than this.

That's always been true. As a kid, I would call the KRLA and KHJ request lines to make oddball requests. The women answering the line would be polite, but I'd rarely hear them on the air. It was always the big new hits that the jock would tell you were "Burnin' up the Boss Line." Actually, as I'm remembering now, Jimmy Rabbitt, the KRLA night jock (had to answer his own phones) cussed me out once, and he was allowed to stray from the play list.

RE: the "P" word, maybe the Moderator will read this and add that word into the censorship software's OK list. We all remember when famed disc jockey Charlie Van Dyke had the name that couldn't be spoken.

Punkdj and Weav, I completely agree with you. Pete mar is my favourite dj on Live 105. He made my nights go by at work way easier. He was a fun DJ to listen. I really hate the fact that he has been replaced by some wannabe hipster-deuche "internet savvy dumbass" that didn't get cast in the youtube movie, Where the Wild Hipsters Are. Also, the imaging on JelliRadio is terrible. The sound effects (like the 3, 2, 1) are undoubtably ripped off from Garageband where the geeneus hipster deuche probably thought he was oh-so-creative in getting sound effects from his macbook. In addition, the imaging voice is one of a computer, which was done through a text to speak program on the Macintosh.

I also love how the entire show fools fans into believing they are actually in control of the entire show, when in actuality, the songs are predetermined from an approved set-list dictated by programming. The reality that a ton of people will come into a chat room and go nuts over which song to request next is absurd because the average radio listener isn't going to have time to sit in a chat room and decide what song they want to hear next- especially if they are driving or in a car without wifi. The majority of people have better things to do. Every song anyone could ever want from Live 105 can be streamed through Youtube. After all, they play nothing but mainstream rock. Great quality versions of Pearljam, Green Day, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers Songs are ubiquitous on the internet.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have such an unskilled radio talent, bad imaging, and fooling listeners as if they are dumb.

Reinstate Pete Mar, have normal imaging, and please, no computers talking. T-Bone? Really? What a lame mascot.

Oh this Jelli radio on live 105 is soooooooo creative that they have a bunch of liners. if you go watch the whitemenace channel on youtube, you can clearly see that they have a predetermined liner on a piece of paper for each artist that gets "voted" into the playlist. since these videos are so well edited, you can clearly see "I-Show #1- Phoenix" MAJOR LINER written on a piece of paper.

Sigh, I really want the things they way they were. I think for nights I've defected to Channel. Sorry.

Let me clarify something here. I am not being down on Menace, who's a good guy and trying hard to do a good program with the material he's been given. I am being down on the cost-cutting suits who thought this was a good idea. Jeez if it's a budget issue, let Menace voice-track the regular playlist in the regular way during regular hours and have Fonseca or Vlazny come in and check off the commercials. The mastermind of this is a CHR guy who doesn't understand the alt-rock format.

I haven't listened to Pete in ages but he was on top of things, and on those occasions when I did a remote with him he was a total hoot. Sucks that they've cut him (as they did Rick Stuart before him) but that's the peril of being an on-air guy.

But, let's just be honest with ourselves, KITS is doing horrible in the ratings! I LOVE Live 105, but CBS is doing the fans of this station a favor by allowing Jelli to be on every night. In fact, CBS could have canned this station a while ago, but has chosen not to. This is their chance to bring more listeners to this station.

he probably got put on that shift because.. A) he is on salary, pete is hourly. this saves part time hours
B) it doesnt take any real talent or abitlity to run jelli, and since hes awful on a regular air shift, putting him there would make sense.

if pete is really gone for good , then that means all thats left is jared & kat , well that's listenable.

I am not familiar with Jelli so I can be way off here, but this sounds exactly like something that airs on the 101 network of Directv. Where listeners text their vote for the video that plays next. I think 3-4 videos are picked for the users to vote on and the winning video gets played. I would assume it is the same with Live. There are some rules built in to stick to a certain clock (ex. 2 currents followed by a classic cut etc.) There is no way it is just a random "you pick whatever song you want." If that was the case, whose to say a bunch of Pearl Jam fans don't sign up and have have Pearl Jam playing non-stop for an hour. No way that would happen, so right there you can see that the station has most of the control over what gets played, and not the listener.

I listened a bit in the car. The imaging is a bit overdone, true. Maybe Menace is a little rough but I don't think he's much worse than the rest of the whoa-dude set.

I tried to run the Flash app but it crashed my video card after a minute or two. Didn't think that was possible on CentOS 5.

partcipating audience is small on these types of things which means you are alienating most of the listening audience while catering to a very small percentage. not a smart move when your station is already failing
