Live 105 morning show beating out 107.7, Alice, KMEL, FREE FM and Wild 94.9. Plus, they just announced they will be taking on "White Menace," ex-asst. producer of the Dog House morning show, full time.White Menace has been working background for Woody,Tony and Ravey for three months, producing videos of shows that have web views in the millions.

In 18-34, Live 105's easiest demo, Woody, etc. rank #5 in the recent trend. Tied with Alice and below KMEL, KYLD, KSOL & KOIT. Lamont & Tonelli #8. Carrolla #23. Woody, etc. were #13 in the Fall book.
 
Perhaps when they were talking about the numbers, they were talking about the monthly. Reason being, in Jan 07, persons 18-34, KITS in morning drive is ranked #2 behind KSOL. The share is pretty impressive, and well ahead of KMEL, WILD, ALICE and the others mentioned above. Granted, it's only the first of 3 months that will make up the winter book.

Dangerous ground using an extrapolated month to make any claims with.
 
Seen it a hundred times in the ratings game....One out of whack month smells like some friend or family member got a hold of a diary more than any true success story. Chances are they'll sink right back to the way the clear pattern was before this month.
Plus, I don't know anything about this show, but the way they're claiming victory over one fluky month likely stems from their job insecurity more than anything else.
 
I don't listen to them, but I won't agree or disagree.

What I will say is that didn't Sarah and No Name have a huge book, and now they just kinda fell off...so we've seen it before...
 
ALICE, STAR101, KFOG and The Bone are 25-54 stations. Who cares about 18-34. The real money is in 25-54 and 25-49.

Each of the 9 sales people at KOIT average around $175,000 a year as do the salespeople at the above mentioned.

The salespeople at LIVE 105, KMEL and KYLD average between $60,000-$75,000.

It's about the $$$'s.

Who can live on $75,000 a year in the Bay Area?
 
I say it's grasping for straws. Can't we just wait for the book? Although in defense of the radio show spouting a victory on a trend...that stuff matters at times to GM's looking to change. I think WT&R are fine but they're acting like they be scared. It's an old Stern trick touting the ratings but w/o having Sterns track record.

What is really not understood often, even if the ratings are not just the 12+.

If I am Kia, I can advertise all morning long on the T-Man show at $350/minute.

KOIT and KFOG would hang up on me if I suggested that rate for their morning shows.

That is why all those Dog House "We are #1" claims ring hollow. Much of their advertising was based on trade. Stern and even Dave Morri earned 50% more than the DogHouse when JV & Elvis were "on the top".
