It sounds a lot like a local station we have in eastern AL...WTDR "Thunder 92.7" (country). Good luck, guys. And God bless you for being bold in your faith.

A double "Amen" to that!

We are all jumping up and down for local community radio. Why? They can't even find a local morning show. They are syndicating Moby. The morning show is the most important of the day and all they can put forth is a syndicated has been. What is this all about? What are you guys excited about? I am confused.

High Octane Radio with Scott and Charlie? These guys are still on 720 the Voice. Are they going to be on 720 the Voice AND The Bear? Because they would be on two stations owned by two different companies. I don't want to be a jerk but are they going to be on both stations? As of a week or so ago they still had promos running on 720 for Saturdays and are still listed on the website of 720. Here's a legit question and maybe this is just my media ethics class coming into play but that would not be a conflict of interest for Scott and Charlie?

Moby is not your typical "syndicated" morning show. For one thing, we will have two people live in our studio each hour that will be interacting with Moby. They will provide almost half of the time each hour with local info. Second, he is in Atlanta... so he knows what is happening here, what the weather is like that day, and anything that is important to this area. Moby also is present in our market a lot. He appears here two or three times a month. Just today he drew over 200 people to a remote at a local business in Newnan and tonight is appearing at the Villages Ampitheater in Fayetteville. That is not something that your typical "syndicated" morning show does for a station. Just think... when was the last time the host of morning shows on other stations did remotes for thier clients? Moby along with Chris East and our new info madam will be part of the BearLand! That makes them LIVE and LOCAL!

Take a deep breath.... slow down.... now here's what's happening.

No, they will not be on both. They are no longer on 720AM. We can not control who runs what promo. As of July 9th they will be the hosts of a LIVE show from 8p till 12m Mon-Fri on 92.5 The Bear! They will play some country music, have some live guests, some phone in guests, take your phone calls... and in general just have a good time! True... there are not millions of listeners at night... but we think we should offer something special to those listeners that are out there. And this show will be special!
Hope that makes you feel a little better! I think I took that same media ethics class!:)

Hey Joe maybe you can clear this up this statement becasue I am alittle confused. You stated in your response, "Just think... when was the last time the host of morning shows on other stations did remotes for thier clients?" Are you referring to Moby or morning shows on other radio stations in the area? If you are talking about Moby, who is a synidacted show host, is doing a remote for The Bear then that is live and local. If you are saying no other live and local morning show host in the area is doing remotes other than Moby and doing the remotes for clients of the station then that would be a misstatement. I am just asking this question if you meant the first or the second statement because you would mis-speaking. Again...no disrespect but this morning and afternoon Jack Douglas, 1/2 of the morning show team on Kiss 102.7 Fm, was doing a remote for one of the station's clients in Temple.

"High Octane Radio with Scott and Charlie"
Your quote "LIVE, LOCAL, COMMUNITY RADIO IS COMING BACK TO SOUTH METRO!". What is live and local or even community about this. Four hours of these guys. Who are you guys trying to fool. Live and local, what a joke. Find local talent. If you wanna be live and local it is not that difficult. Syndicated is the way of everybody else. The talent is out there and it is local. Find them. Radio listeners love local. Very little local about this station.

If I didn't know better I would think you just want to wrestle a little! :)

We were talking strictly about "syndicated" morning shows in the post weren't we? So what I meant was how many other hosts of "syndicated" morning shows have you seen doing remotes for clients of their network station in the South Metro area. Of course, hosts that are live and in the stations studios do remotes... that's one of the reasons the stations have them! That's why Steve's stations in Carrollton have done well... he believes in LIVE and LOCAL! Think of all the other stations... the one's that have syndicated shows on... when was the last time you saw those hosts here in South Metro making an appearance? That's my point.
Joe

Nah Joe...i am not wanting to wrestle. Again, just wanting to get to the point you were making. Gald things are cleared up.

Well, let's see....

Both Scott and Charlie live in South Metro
Both Scott and Charlie will be LIVE in the 92.5 The Bear studio each night
Both Scott and Charlie are active in LOCAL charities, events, etc.

Chris East lives in South Metro
Chris East is LIVE in the 92.5 The Bear studio each morning
Chris East is active in LOCAL charities, events, etc.

Wande Elise lives in South Metro
Wanda Elise will be LIVE in the studio each day
Wanda Elise is active in LOCAL charities, events, etc.

Uncle Rich lives in South Metro
Uncle Rich will be LIVE in the studio each day
Uncle Rich is active in LOCAL charities, events, etc.

That means from 6am till 12m we will have programing coming LIVE from our LOCAL studios
(OK.. the 7p-8p NASCAR Hour will be LIVE, but not from our studio... you got me there!)

They will all be making appearances for 92.5 The Bear all over South Metro

I'm curious, What part of LIVE and LOCAL is it you are not understanding?
Joe
