Just curious on if a lot of the smaller markets have any local news at :25 and weather during the national weather reports.
Up here in Bangor, ME, WLBZ-2 (NBC) does both on weekdays and weekends although it originates at WCSH-6 in Portland. There really is NO Bangor news presence until 5 and 6 p.m.. on weekdays then back to Portland for the 11 p.m. newscast and it's Portland all the way on the weekend.
WABI-5 (CBS) does both dropins on weekdays but stays with the network on the weekends. WABI does however provide the most local coverage during the week with newscasts at 5 a.m., 12 noon, 6 and 11 p.m. and has a 6 and 11 newscast on weekends.
WVII-7 (ABC) provides NOTHING for the weather breaks weekdays or weekends. On the :25 newsbreak, geez, it depends I guess. Sometimes they have a break recorded the night before. Sometimes it's Bloomberg Business Brief and their AccuWeather guy. On the weekends, they stick with the net. Their local news presence shows up at 6 p.m. And then they PRE-RECORD their 10 p.m. Fox and 11 p.m. newscast shortly after.Weekends it's that wonderful show "Paid Programming" at 6 p.m. and at 11 p.m. it's again "Infomercial!" on Saturday and "Seinfeld" on Sunday.
What does your market look like?? ???
