LOCAL RADIO COMPANY CUTS MORNING SHOW HOST!

Word has it that Dick is moving from WALY to WFBG.

Looks like that is now confirmed. He is listed on wfbgam.com and in a picture with Charlie.

Glad to see Forever kept Dick on! At least they did one smart thing.

Isn't this just simply Rodger Ribbett using another non de plume? Wasn't he selling furniture as of late? I think reporter Walt Frank may have gotten some of his facts wrong. While the new WALY morning co-host DID work in Altoona radio most of his life, I think he VACATIONED in Atlantic City, New Jersey and used to go to both State College and Pittsburgh to catch concerts. As for Philadelphia, I think he may have driven through on his way to vacation in Atlantic City. Fort Myers, Florida might have been another vacation spot. Perhaps Satelite Man can shed some light on this as I know his is familiar with the Altoona radio market although his main focus in life is installing satelite dishes. I'm not too sure whether he works for Dish or one of the other firms. I still use a pair of rabbit (or should I say ribbetttttt) ears in my fry wagon. I can only pick up 6 & 10 depending on my location. 8 & 23 are usually fuzzy. Or since I'm in the fast food biz, should I say "fizzy"?

Rush Limbaugh saved AM radio on a national level, what we need in Altoona is that one person who can save local radio. Let's face it, only one person ever truely dominated this town and region, and he's the only one who could do it again.
SEAN McKAY! I wish one of these radio station owners would get some smarts about them and make it happen.
WHY? His audience is either dead or deaf by now. No one else has a clue who he is..except,of course, the 4 or 5 "experts" who post here.

Dish here! Fryman, I just received a great sales flyer and I believe we can pimp da wagon with some awesome digital technology at a GRRRREAT PRICE. You are right on Ribbitt, I too think he's claiming as many fake radio jobs as he has fake radio names. I wonder if he turns on that crazy, tongue swallowing radio voice when he's trying to sell end tables?

I can't believe someone would hire Ribbitt with that voice he uses, State College yeah, Atlantic City, well it's market 160-ish so maybe but Fort Myers, the Burgh and Philly? That's like saying the AMC Pacer was a good looking car or the Chevy Corvair was safe...like fryman said, maybe he traveled or vacationed at some of those places...maybe he picked up a static sticker from one of those stations when he was on vacation...but worked for them? Roflmao, interned or board op'd for the on-air talent at best in most of the markets mentioned but on air....cmon...Walt Frank is an old radio rat...he should have done some research.

Sounds like SOME of you are a little jealous and have yet to put your ego's in check. What a bunch of pathetic losers.... I hate to hear what you say about each others ...ummm "talent". Could be why you aren't on the air anymore.

Good Morning From Ft Myers..........curious I spoke to a former PD and air talent who has been in this market for 20 years and has never heard the name.........no biggie....I wish anyone well with a job opportunity these days...one bright note about this market is that ALL the local owners believe in more live shifts and the stations I am on---while also suffering big cuts have kept a couple of weekend jocks around. Most air talent has been here for years. While President Obama was here a few weeks ago most of us media got together and were just grateful he showed up to help us out. In this down economy we have go the extra mile and try look on the bright side...and before you take another shot at someone trying to stay alive in this industry....If Paul Harvey had the class to keep his mouth shut when he had those affiliation problems with ABC a few years back, we can also honor the man by trying to move this industry forward in whatever form it is left in. Have a nice day. 8)
