Local radio company threatens listeners with lawsuits

How many times have you wished as a programmer or talent that
your company would've stood behind you! THIS IS GREAT! Normally
stations fold when advertiser's are threatened.

My thoughts---they deserve a boycott for listener intimidation. Since I am not in the coverage area of their Lincoln stations, what I do won't matter to them. But if I did receive such a C&D letter, I would reply to their advertisers that since I "am not to have further contact" with their advertisers I will be happy to follow that by not "contacting" them to do any business with their establishments.

Not a good move on the station's part. Companies that sue their customers and fans for anything other than non-payments tend not to thrive.

I do have many thoughts about this. However, as one that did receive the mentioned C&D, I will refrain from sharing these thoughts. I will note that there were several of us that received the C&D (the article mentions three of us, but I have heard that seven have received them so far).

EVERY market should be concerned about this. The precedent has been set.

With so many options for music now, it seems to me that radio, in general, should be catering MORE to the listener - not intimidating them.

Could this set a precedent for Barack Obama suing FOX News if he loses re-election?
