Local TV, radio personalities in movies

Watched the orig Boston Strangler movie last night and guess who's in it as a TV reporter:
Ch 5's Jack Hynes. Can you think up other examples of local TV or radio personalities in
the movies, incl. TV-movies? I have a few

Dan Rea: Newscaster in Reversal of Fortune

Steve Sweeney: in some Farrelly Bros. productions incl. Me Myself and Irene

Supposedly Doug Meehan was to be in The Town; I saw the movie but can't recall if
he made it in or not

Howie Carr: Talk Show Host in A Civil Action; also in Beacon Hill aka The Gentleman From
Boston, prod. by former Secy of State Michael Connolly

Joe Castiglione: Heard I believe on a radio in A Civil Action; also in Fever Pitch,
and Still We Believe: A Red Sox Movie

There was a reporter for Ch 4 who appeared in a horror movie filmed in either Texas or
Louisiana...can't recall name of reporter or the movie!

Tom Leykis: Heard as talk show host in Good Night Sweet Wife: A Murder in Boston (about
Chuck Stuart)

Palmer Payne (newsman at WRKO in its heyday) played a Boston Police Officer in a movie in the 60's. I am pretty sure it was in Otto Preminger's "The Cardinal" but I wouldn't swear to it.

Dennis and Callahan have been in a few Farrelly brothers' movies.

Steve Sweeney also played a cab driver in the film, "Last Stop Wonderland"

Tom Ellis - wasn't he in Marathon Man or some other mid-70s thriller?
Bob Lobel - wasn't he on Cheers and in a Farrelly Bros. movie?
Kurt Gowdy - the 1st Naked Gun (Police Squad) movie.
Oh, yeah... Mike Barnicle was in The Candidate.

If you can remember back a few years to around 1965-68, Terry Carter was an African-American News Anchor for WBZ-TV 4. Among his other credits were acting in such TV shows as "The Phil Silvers Show"(aka Sgt. Bilko), "Colonel Tigh" in Battlestar Galactica and Dennis Weavers partner SGt. Joe Broadhurst in "McCloud" just to mention a few. On the big screen, he played Officer Tuttle in "Benji".

I remember there was a stretch where Dave Maynard used to talk about it --getting a gig-- all the time but I didn't think he ever made it? IMDB has him? in "Outside Providence" so he prob did.

I feel I've seen Maurice Lewis in something. Not in IMDB though.

In 1990, Tom Ellis moved to New York to become a full time actor. He played an FBI agent in the last scene of a John Cusak movie and did an Anacin commercial that ran for quite a long time.

Barry Nolan played a newscaster in an episode of Sienfeld

bill chardell , i think i spelled his name right ,who was an wrestling announcer and horror movie host in pittsburg was the newsman interviewing people who were shooting zombies in night of the living dead.

vampira , the first horror movie host was in plan 9 from outer space.

john zacherle who was probally the second horror host (zacherley on new york city tv)was the voice for a monster in brain damage and a tv weatherman in frankenhooker.

Major Mudd (from Ch 7) aka Ed McDonnell appeared along with a gaggle of other kids show hosts from around the country in a later 3 Stooges film.

Ed McDonnell extra...

In Philadelphia he was the Flying Sorcerer. AND a sidekick to TV Legend Ernie Kovacs.

Barry Nolan also played a news reporter in the Robin Williams/Nathan Lane film, "The Birdcage."
I'm suprised no one has yet mentioned Rex Trailer's appearence as a doctor in the Bette Midler film, "Mermaids."

Charles Laquidara was in "Last Stop Wonderland". Lance Norris was in "Mystic River". Steve Sweeney was in "Celtic Pride".
