All of the locals in Minneapolis are low power with HD off. I'm seeing so many new stations I've never seen before now that the superpower stations aren't blasting my radio. Immediately saw KUMD-FM out of Duluth plus many more. Really exciting!
Lots of stations booming in, usually this part of the band has nothing but these two locals for me. 93X and KQ both have RDS on but the way the text is displayed is different than usual. KQ is scrolling the text word by word on their PS when it's usually letter by letter, and 93X actually says "93X" rather than "KXXR" as it usually does. My inner radio nerd loves this!
I figure they were being worked on, or something along those lines. All of the stations from the main radio tower (KQRS, KXXR, KZJK, KMNB, KDWB, KTCZ, among others) were on a backup transmitter. I've seen this happen every once in a while but never have I been able to get so many stations while it's happening!
Looks like they just switched everything back on within the last hour.
