Long time Triad Radio veteran and VO guy Bill Price suffers stroke

FYI - was told he had been off his blood pressure meds for a while and fell in his kitchen on Friday. Is now at High Point Regional in room 425. A friend has spoken to him and he was enunciating fine. That's all I know. Tried to call him today but got no answer. Please keep Bill in your prayers and thoughts.

To the best of my knowledge... limited as it may be... he does a lot of the "booth announcer" sponsors for WFMY TV-2 (in the news) and a bunch of the in-house commercial v/o. Worked with him a few years ago and he always go the job done.

Get well soon, Bill

He also did radio. So what station?

Last radio he did was WIST-98.3 under Country Legends format.

Later. . . .

He also worked for a while in the "Radio Building" in the nineties when WMAG 99.5, Cat Country 94.5, and WMFR 1230 were there. And he worked for Bernie Mann at WGLD-FM which morphed into Joy FM on 100.3 and I'm sure lots of other places too. Of course mentioning anything over 15 years ago is ancient history to most folks on this board and I'm sure not terribly important. Hope Bill makes a speedy recovery!

Sure wish him the best.. Good guy!! Dave Compton said something about doing something at the Radio Lunch on Thursday for him!!!

I missed the radio lunch today in High Point, but I was told that he was OK and talking but had some mobility problems.. I'll find out and post...unless Wes Jones is looking at this and can add to his condition!

Bill left me a voice mail yesterday and he has been discharged from the hospital and is staying with a friend in Monroe working on his re-hab. Two weeks is pretty good when he could not even stand up two weeks ago. More when I find out.

Didn't realize he could not stand up initially after the stroke. I'd say coming back from that deficit is amazing. Will he be doing his V.O. out of Monroe for the interim ?

He just posted on Facebook "Just know that all the kindnesses, cares, thoughts nd prayers continue to be appreciated It amazes me to know that 2 weeks ago I was laying flat on my back in my kitchen, immobile, unable to get up and now I can manage to walk a few steps on my own. God is Good." We had a special collection for him at the radio lunch and we're looking forward to seeing him back soon!
