Look at this Disney is not Selling ABC TV O&O's, Disney is Selling 3 Radio Disney

Were I running a broadcast network, I'd very much want to hold onto my O&O's, and in fact get as many of them as possible, to insure distribution of programming in as many cities as possible and to avoid the embarrassment of affiliation switches (like the wave in the late 1970's which saw ABC upgrade it's stations in many cities; and the even bigger wave in the mid-1990's after Fox got part of the NFL Sunday-afternoon package) that could leave my network on weaker stations after such flips.

ALso ABC Disney the day before had a joint venture with Univision and Created Fusion TV. I knew in some aspects Disney ain't giving up its ABC TV O&O's But I'm Surprised that they never thought about buying WJLA 7 in Washington DC after selling ABC Radio O&O's to the former Citadel now Cumulus.
