Looking for a radio home for Southwest TN Basketball

Southwest TN has inquired about putting their basketball games on the radio (mens and womens)...and I've been tasked with looking for a radio home...So if you folks have any ideas, lemme know....

I've already checked in with the fine folks at Flinn, and I'll be contacting WUMR as well, but I'm open to any other suggestions.

Stand by ... we're crunching the numbers.

After careful review, the number of stations interested in carrying the games would be ...

Zero.

Of course, you could buy the time on KWAM or from George McClintock. Since both stations have nighttime wattage in the range of a hair dryer, the families of the players who live within 500 yards of the transmitters could listen to the games.

I do think you're going to have a very hard sell on your hands. The only station that I can think of with a decent signal and a halfway decent chance of working something out that you haven't mentioned would be WMC AM. It's a long shot, but it's worth a phone call.

We all know how much the Memphis City Schools need money. What about WQOX 88.5?

This may be a good suggestion.....I've seen Paul Davis and Sherman Austin broadcasting high school football games.....they might jump at the opportunity.

Thanks for being a jerk.

To everyone else, thanks for the suggestions.

You're looking for suggestions.

I've got one.

Fuggetaboutit!

If you actually think that there is a Memphis radio station willing to ante up money for the honor of carrying a basketball game between the SWCC Saluqi and Motlow State, then you are delusional.

By the way, can you get me tickets to the Hiwassee game? If not, can you get me in when the Saluqi play Saint Catharine?

Are there any local cable TV channels (like Fox Sports or Comcast Sports South) that carry high school football games? If so, they might be interested. I figure if they carry high school games, they might be interested in carrying college games.

I know you asked about radio, but TV (cable TV at that) might be the only viable option.

I'll tell you what Grape....I'll leave tickets at Will Call for you when Southwest plays Saint Cath....which will be never again...but thanks for playing.

And I'm not asking for a station to 'ante up money'.

At the end of the day, you're probably right...and it's probably too much to ask you to not be a jacka$$, but thanks for your input anyway.
