Looking for history of the 103.9 signal from 1990 to 1999.

I've been trying to remember what happened to 103.9 from the late 80's to when Hot 103.9 signed on in 1999.

I know prior to 1989, it was WORG, targeting Orangeburg with a Adult Contemporary format. In either march or April of 1989, they changed to Top 40 as 103.9 Kiss FM with the new call letters of WKSO. They remained Top 40 until around 1990, when they changed over to Urban. Then sometime later, they went Urban AC (using SMN "The Touch" format) and was (I believe) owned by the same company that owned WKWQ (which was running the same format at the time).

Wasn't there a point in the 90's when both stations went Urban Gospel? I want to say yes, but I'm not sure. Also, didn't WKSO sign-off for a period of about a year so that the signal could be moved into the Columbia market?

Thanks, it really is hard to keep an accurate time-line with these station's histories.
