Did you ever know Ralph Smith, who worked at WDSL Mocksville, WSJS, and WBUY Lexington years ago?? Do you know if he is still alive?

I know of him, but am not sure we've ever met. WDSL now is co-owned (I believe) with WSIC in Statesville, and duplicates their talk programming.

Speaking of WDSL, I drove through Mocksville on I-40 yesterday and 1520 was silent. Any idea what was going on?

Later....

Matt...

Don't know for sure but I do know that WSIC took a lightning hit Sunday night that took out some gear including their T-1 to the Internet. I think they are using an IP based setup to feed WDSL...

So, maybe the should announce they are off the air temporarily and will be back soon! :~)
