Looking for someone who might be willing to provide some morning show coaching or mentorship

Hi everyone,

I really don’t consider myself a “professional” on-air host. I got started in radio when I was barely out of high school, and had the chance to learn about the industry “trial by fire” style at a smaller station.

After a few years of getting my feet wet and working part time (while juggling school and another full time job), I was given the task of stepping in for the morning show for a few weeks. I had never done this before, and it was one of the scariest (yet most exhilarating experiences of my entire life).

I had no idea what I was doing. The first few shows were pretty rough. I was used to short breaks, and the morning show required me to express myself a lot more than ever before. Admittedly, I failed miserably at trying to be the community-oriented news outlet that regular morning show is, but discovered that I could put on a much better show just by being myself, and coming up with segments that I thought were amusing.

I finished strong, and despite still needed some polishing before I could ever a professional morning show host, most people I’ve talked to really enjoyed my approach. I had to leave my side gig in radio to pursue a stable career, but I always wonder if I could have found any success with morning radio if I kept practicing.

Long story short: I have some clips of my old show. I don’t want to post them, as i’m sometimes embarrassed by my skill level. However, if anyone wanted to check them out and provide some constructive feedback, I’d love to hear it. I’m not sure if I will ever return to broadcasting, but I miss it every day!

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
