Looks like Bonneville setting to get out of radio

It is true that Entercom never changed KOIT that much since their Bonneville days

It's called: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The only change under Entercom I ever detected was in those PSA announcements they tagged, "KOIT, a Bonneville station, working with you to make a difference" They deleted the words 'Bonneville' and 'station.'

Actually, Entercom didn't change KDFC very much either, that I could tell.

Until this Monday @ Noon. Then 102.1 will sound VERY DIFFERENT!
 
Unless you know something beyond yesterday's story of the sale to Hubbard, I'd say it looks like Bonneville is getting out of radio east of Salt Lake City. They continue to own properties in SLC, Phoenix, L.A. and Seattle. They've been in Salt Lake and Seattle forever, and are in Phoenix and L.A. for the second time...all places they know well.

Actually, they're in Seattle for a second time, too. They got out of Seattle in '97 when they swapped it and Kansas City to Entercom for what was then KLDE 94.5 in Houston. They just got back into Seattle within the last 5 years when they swapped San Francisco to Entercom. Entercom gave them back KIRO plus 770 and 97.3 in Seattle, and they got into Cincinnati for the first time. I believe they also got a small amount of cash from Entercom, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
 
No, I do not know anything more than yesterday's story. It just seems like they got rid well over half of their stations. While in the past they exchanged markets. Just an observation.
