Looks like the end of 105.1 FM Talk is Nov. 1

I'm putting money they switch to the sports format using the new CBS Sports radio network set to debut Jan 2nd. The Colts and Reds (and probably the Bengals) would all jump ship for an FM station. 105.1 would be that station.

Love was just an awful idea for a station unless it was all delilah but the name says it all. I doubt a sports fm would work well. I mean political talk didnt do well what makes them think sports talk will?

We will know in less then 2 weeks ;D

A little advice to mainline put some money into whatever it is if you want it to succeed!!! I remember when 105.1 lrs in spring of 2005 they were pulling around a 4 share but they were putting something into the station. There hasnt been an effort made on 105.1 in quite some time.

As with anything in life you get back what you put in.

Like I said, there are three major league teams wanting to be on an FM station. If you don't understand why that is important, you don't understand radio.

I could see the Reds and one of the NFL teams going to 105.1 but not both of them. The Bengals and the Colts play at the same time many weeks so one of them would have to move to another station when that happens. It would be intersting if one week the Colts were moved to 102.3 The Max ;D

the Reds and one of the NFL teams is all you need. Plus, where do you think March Madness will be on the radio dial with a CBS Sports radio network?

ESPN 680 has the March Madness.

For now. With a CBS sports radio network, where do you think March Madness will eventually wind up on the radio?

Dial Global carries March Madness on the radio. CBS only has TV.

I would think think a self proclamed radio guru like bengals fan would know the difference between radio and TV. CBS TV has rights to march madness that doesnt mean a network using the same name will have the rights also. maybe hotpatrck understands more than bengals fan aka carter burger cason.

For now. You don't think that CBS would want to put it on THEIR radio network at some point? I would think even someone going by the name "sportsbuzz" would understand that. Apparently not.

Sure they would Cason but I would think Dial Global has a deal in place here for now and I would think it's a long term deal. I don't proclaim to know everything about radio and talk down to others like you. I'm not sure why you would considering you think it's a good idea to put three majopr league teams on one station. Two of which play at the same time most of the time. Three Major league teams Carter Burger?? How would they clear all of that?? You say you are on the side of local. what is local about three major league teams?? Stick to what you know!!

I have more commercials then i have ever heard on 105.1 since they went on the air in the beginning of 1993. They should consider being the 24/7 365 day christmas station lol

Just sayin!!!

That's because the Christmas format sells! Unfortunatly, the Christmas format only sells.....around Christmas.

This can be armchair quarterbacked all day but the following is true....

They won't have the rights to any sports coverage that is desired in Louisville.

They won't have a budget for local programming or for anything resembling a marketing campaign.

Those who run things won't have a long term commitment so this format will be brief until the next "great idea".

Then there is the signal that has been an issue since it signed on the air.

As mentioned in another thread serving Bullitt County would be 105.1's only usefulness but then the question is wondering if there is enough revenue down there to cover the debt load of this overpriced facility.

Like i said sports on 105.1 is a terrible idea period!!! They should have kept it as talk no ifs ands or buts!!! But i will say they are a bit more daring then genxmas radio on christmas music.

They will play the barking dogs and jeff foxworthy a red neck christmas and jimmy eat world last xmas.

They might try and get rights for Bellarmine, Colts, Bengals and/or Reds. It won't hurt to try.

105.1FM Talk had a station vehicle with a wrap of the logo.

And Hotpatrick you say they should have stayed talk? Sports is talk. Plus they lost Savage and Ingraham left.
