Looks like the end of 105.1 FM Talk is Nov. 1

They might try and get rights for Bellarmine, Colts, Bengals and/or Reds. It won't hurt to try.

I was thinking UK or U of L.

105.1FM Talk had a station vehicle with a wrap of the logo.

That's not the marketing I was talking about.

The sports brand in Louisville is owned by 790 and 840. The efforts of 105.1 must overcome that perception. The sports format on 105.1 is someone's "great idea" to bring success to the signal but they aren't in it for the long run. WFAN bled money for its early existence but the owner was willing to ride it out. Give it a year or so before another "great idea" for success is presented.

The Colts, Bengals and Reds would all like to be on FM. My money would be on getting the Colts since the Bengals are produced by Clear Channel's Cincy cluster and they are pretty much locked into 790. But hey, If they were to land both the Colts and Bengals, it's not like they don't have another FM they could put the other team on.

Yes sports is talk but sports talk will do no better then political talk as for as 105.1 goes. So they should have just kept it political talk for sports will do no better then what they got now!!!

They are making if they do this a grave costly error and mainline will not like the results!!!

My Money would be on Main line NOT putting NFL play by play on any of their music stations. They all lean female, it would be a horrible decesion. Putting a team on from of town on a station that is making money and getting ratings. Great idea Bengals fan. My money would be you Cater Buger Cason losing his money. Keep your money in your pocket.

Jim Rome's new affiliate list was released last week. No Louisville stations were on it. So, that doesn't necessarily rule it out from ever happening, but we can infer sports talk isn't on the immediate horizon for 105.1.

Unless the Colts or Bengals start Playing more where one is 1pm and the other is on 4pm or SNF/MNF/TNF. there is absolutely no way you can have both teams on the same station especially when the sister stations are female leading like said above.

Colts and Bengals would all but need to be on seperate stations exclusivity

NO it just infers that if 105.1 does go sportstalk it wont be with the CBS Sports Radio network. they still could go sports. there is NBC Sports radio thats semi started with Evening/Overnight PRogramming already, Weekends starting up and Week day AM/MD/PM slots filled starting in april.

Dunno if Yahoo Sports Radio has a louisville Affilitate already or not. which could also have a home on 105.1

105.1 switched to an AC format and they are calling it "Easy 105.1." Louisville does have Yahoo Sports affiliate on 1450 AM WQKC.

I believe all the other networks are already covered in Louisville, which is why I said that. Yahoo! Sports Radio lists 1450 as being its Louisville affiliate. NBC may not be covered yet, but, like you said, it's not ready for prime time, and we'd likely have already heard if Main Line was staffing up.

So, if this Easy Rock format isn't the real format for 105.1, it's not a stunt for all sports.
