Looks like TNA rasslin is about to jump the shark.

For those interested : Missus Foley's baby boy Mick Foley is now the Champ. I thought TNA represented the future of pro rasslin. What a sucker punch.
Plus this Main Event Mafia storyline is running out of steam fast.

Is it really any worse than David Arquette(!) winning the WCW World Championship? That's one of many reasons that WCW is no longer in business. At least Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy is a real wrestler, and a better actor than Arquette, if you ask me.

I agree, it CAN'T BE ANY WORSE THAN WCW IN THE FINAL YEARS ;)!

But the main reason is that Foley is champ, in my opinion, is that WWE has launched Superstars on WGN America putting some slight competition for wrestling

on that night.

I strongly feel that TNA will eventually try to counter sometime in the future by putting Impact either on Raw, ECW, or Smackdown to try to derail on of those shows ratings.

I've given up on RAW because it's such an institution that even Jarrett has given up on ever challenging it.

But for either ECW or Smackdown, which just seemed lighter to me following the draft on storylines, this could be a HUGE opportunity for TNA to get a bigger

audience than what they have to go through with the CSI's and Grey's Anatomy's of the world.

But in the end it's like anything else on tv, it's all about the ratings ;D!

Are you kidding? Mick Foley's antics have been the most interesting thing going on the show. He's motivated and still great on the mike. Ring wise? Spotty, but still serviceable at this point. Him 'winning' the championship was a surprise, but we know he'll probably be a transitional champ to put over someone else fairly soon.

And it's there in which lies TNA's biggest problem: Who do you put the title on next? Kurt Angle? Been there, done that. (Might have to do it again.) Sting? He just 'lost' it, and Steve Borden could decide to retire soon. A.J. Styles? Don't make me laugh. Samoa Joe? He's actually regressed in popularity--who really cares about his new look or his 'nation of violence' spiel? That could change somewhat if Taz becomes his on-air manager and they get the storylines right.

The MEM storyline is stale, but as I said, putting the championship back in that camp might be the only thing left going forward to fix both of those problems. Perhaps you could have Angle win the title back, then have Steiner, Nash, and Booker all plot to take it or something (face turn included). The last thing we need is another Jeff Jarrett title run (ever!), another four way or triple-threat championship, or another FrontLine vs. MEM battle that will be quickly forgotten about.

Really, there's a lack of fresh faces in the main event picture, and that's what's going to hurt TNA the most long term. There's some new directions they could go: Hernandez has a title shot contract, Brutus Magnus needs a push, Rhino has nothing better to do, and Bobby Lashley is a new signee. They should work elevate a new name or two into the picture during the late spring/summer instead of relying on the same old core.

One more item:
Regarding the farce that is ECW, why does Tommy Dreamer prolong his shame? Why hasn't he moved on with his career?
I get it that someone wants to stick around for pride's sake but c'mon. He's long been reduced to a jobber who never wins anymore.
This isn't Paul Dangerously's ECW anymore Dreamer. Stop being McMahon's clown just for the paycheck.
