Yeah...stores always stock the items nobody wants, and manufacturers rush to produce the products nobody buys. That's the way it works. Don't you ever feel silly saying things like that?
As for Wal Mart, don't forget more radio listening is done in cars than any other single location. That's why satellite was quick on the draw with car radios. It was a LONG TIME before there were dedicated home units. Years, in fact (the car units were "transportable"...but that ain't the same thing as a dedicated COMPONENT tuner). With HD, home and car units were introduced almost simultaneously. It's portables that are "late to the party", but they're coming.
There is MUCH merchandise in Wal Mart stores that's not on the website (I'd wager that MOST of what's in stores isn't on the web)...again illustrating the folly of believing that all knowledge can be found, or even relates to, the internet! Wal-Mart is first and foremost a "brick and mortar" store.
Mike
You almost make me laugh coming across this board like some 'Crusader' repying to every post as if your words washes the slate clean or something... LOL!
Right... So basically the home HD tuners aren't out for some time already, perhaps several years and now you claim the car units are first etc. Look the car HD units were out for about 3 years or more and nothing except maybe hundreds were bought by radio geeks like yourself, and others, now Walmart stocked the HD CLOCK radios either in it's stores or on the website, but now they have DISCONTINUED selling them except the car radio for now.. until they see no one's buying them, they too will disappear from Walmart's website if they don't sell... soon lots of other stores will follow suit!
Like I said Mike, when the HD portable comes out in December...I'll be the FIRST to buy one and post my comments on this site!
Once again see what Walmart was stocking then and now....
