Looks like Walmart Gave Up On HD Recievers For the Home....

"Wal-Mart Enters HD-Radio Business" 3/5/2007

"Bentonville, Ark. — The nation’s largest retailer put its muscle behind digital HD-Radio technology with today’s launch of an HD-Radio-equipped JVC car CD player in 1,989 Wal-Mart stores in 85 markets."

"She adds that the chain will see how the radios sell before making room for other models or home high-def radios."

On 3/5/2007, the HD radio was launched in 1,989 Wal-Mart stores in 85 markets. Obviously, the HD radio was not selling, so it has been relegated to online status only - it will sell, just as well as, the Receptor HD at Circuit City:

Excuse me, but is that what you were asked? You were asked to make good on your claim that Wal Mart has put an HD display in a single store anywhere, and then removed it. We're waiting.

As for RadioPilot, there was another radio available ONLINE that isn't available now. So what? The Boston is "long in the tooth", and has sensitivity issues. According to Wal Mart's headquarters, their HD campaign IN STORES hasn't begun, but will in a few months. The claim was that they has sold the radios IN STORES, and removed them. We're STILL waiting for evidence of them doing this in a single store, anywhere. The claim was that they had given up on HD, later it was claimed that they had pulled them from stores "relegated to online only". What we have asked for repeatedly is evidence of a single store where this has happened, ANYWHERE.

"Site to Store Availability Schedule"

http://www.walmart.com/cservice/s2s/availabilty_list.html

Well, this could go either way, but maybe you are correct - the only explanation may be that Wal-Mart lied to the HD Radio Alliance/iBiquity, by promising to stock the JVC in 1000+ stores by 3/5/2007, instead making it available just for pickup. The "Site to Store Availability Schedule" indicates that as of March 2007 the JVC could be ordered on-line and shipped to many of the stores that were supposed to be carrying it. Maybe, Wal-Mart is seeing how the JVC sells on-line before stocking it in stores, but if Circuit City is any indication, it will never make it to store shelves.

I'll accept that as an apology. Now if you'd like to really start fresh, I'll accept your apology for the comments you made about me, AND MY DISABILITY, on another website. Really classy there, Dude!

This is totally nuts - my post was not an apology, but just another possible explanation. Either way, it is a losing proposition for HD Radio - either Wal-Mart lied, or the JVC was pulled off store shelves and relegated on-line. RadioPilot is correct, that the Receptor HD is no longer carried by Wal-Mart and the same thing will happen to the JVC. You act as if this board will determine the fate of HD Radio.

And you act as if you can say anything about anyone, or anything, and it's true just because you said so. My disability? Apparently fair game. ANYTHING is apparently fair game when accompanied by a couple of pasted links, and a little smiley face.

You post OBVIOUSLY false claims REPEATEDLY? No reason to admit it. HD is "doomed" because you say so. I see. We just accept your word for it. Isn't that how we got into Iraq? I suppose Wal Mart had, and has removed, the WMDs, too.
