Los Angeles + Riverside-San Bernardino Radio Ratings: Holiday 2014

Interesting that KSWD is the bottom full market commercial FM signal on the list. We have seen their ratings really go up this year; it will be interesting to see how that impacts their positioning on this list.

I wonder if they have left money on the table because they are owned by Bonneville. Years ago, they refused a few of my clients' ads because of the nature of those clients' business. I have no idea what, if any, advertisers might be taboo for Bonneville these days. I listen to few LA area stations so I hear fewer commercials of local business.

Several months ago, there was a rumor that KABC would switch to a sports format and even make a bid to regain broadcast rights to Dodgers baseball. Was the rumor unfounded?

It would appear so, wouldn't it ...

Or was KABC seriously considering such a format? And.....would it have been a wise decision?

I doubt we'll ever know for sure what discussions took place. With that said: From a standpoint of lowered operating costs, switching to the CBS Sports Network (which, as TheBigA pointed out, Cumulus distributes via its Westwood One division) would have dropped the expenses to just board ops and electric bills. But with the Dodgers having defected to 570, they'd have nothing in the way of local sports beyond the NHL Kings, which is very little to build a franchise around.
