Lots of hiring going on at Adventure Radio....

Lately, Adventure Radio has been running numerous spots, looking for a Business Manager, a part time board op & a part time promotions team member. I think there's also been a fouth position they've been advertising for as of late, but I don't recall offhand.

Has there been some sort of exodus, or is Adventure doing some new hiring?

Gerogia is one hell of a big place. Want to explain to some of us who live on the other side of the kingdom where, pray tell, is Adventure Radio?

GRC,

I believe it's near Valdosta.

The station was once part of the Wild Adventures Theme Park, which last year was sold to
a subsidiary of the Dollywood folks. I don't know if the station transferred to the new owners of not.
It used to sound like one long repeating commercial for Wild Adventures.

I believe former Wild Adventures owner Kent Buescher has relocated to Cypress Gardens and is
operating the park there.

I was in Valdosta a couple of months ago, but we tuned in to country WAAC 92.9 and never changed stations.

El wrong-o to both of you!

Adventure radio maintains dual facilities in Savannah & Hilton Head, SC. Sorry for not mentioning this, as I'm a stickler for people to identify stations & markets myself.

O.K. Be a stickler. I'm sitting up here with one foot on the Appalachian Trail.... still wondering which station is called Adventure Radio. Want to share some call letters.... or maybe a frequency?

Adventure has 106.1-WFXH, 106.9-WGZR, WGCO-98.3, 107.9-WLOW and 1130-WXFX. Not that it has anything to do with the post...that is unless you are interested in applying for a position.

Guru..

I was wondering how in the world there could be that much excitement at WDDQ 92.1 in Adel. ;D

It was sold by Adventure Radio Group LLC (a different company, I presume) to Smalltown Broadcasters in March.

Thanks for the info.

Now let me have a bit of fun at your expense.

I can see going to the Arkansas board and someone posts: Wasn't that an interesting combination of records played on some stattion somewhere this morning.

Or I go to the Indiana board and someone posts: Wow, did you see the price on that station? Would you pay that much for it?

You are right.... why do I need to know what town the station is in and which station it is, unless I am interested in applying for work.

But I am still fascinated with this little curiosity: How would I know whether I wanted to apply for a job UNLESS I know where the community is, and which station it is.

We indeed have the classic question of the primacy of the chicken or the egg.

Don't get red in the face and bent out of shape. Just teasing you a bit.

And all of this is a moot point anyway, as Triad Broadcasting owns all of the aforementioned stations and merely kept the Adventure Radio (which Triad bought out in 2000) name for their station group here in Savannah.
