Louisville Fall 2014 Ratings, Part 2 (Hint: It gets worse for WLGX)

Amazing! Just when you thought WLGX hit rock bottom with their 1.8 for fall part 1, they're at 1.7 now. And that isn't to mention the fact that WKRD is actually coming very close to WLGX (1.6) now that we're getting into basketball season.

No Alpha stations in there again, I'm curious to see how WGHL is doing. Anecdotally, I've heard mostly positive feedback about it, from those who know it is there. Their billboards are all over the place so I wonder if the word that they exist is getting out there. I doubt it'll be enough to keep them going for long though.
 
WLGX seems to be on life support for sure.I noticed WHAS went way up.I guess changing to 840 from 84 really helped :)
I would like to know how WGHL is doing too.I've really begun to like the station.Seems like they play a lot more variety than when they started.
I'm also curious about the Salem stations.I always wonder how WGTK 970 is doing but Salem never appears in the ratings.Same thing for WAKY.They used to be in the ratings but I guess W&B don't subscribe to them anymore.I wish Louisville could start having the monthly PPM ratings.Does Louisville have to be a Top 50 market for those?
 
I'm eager to see what sort of effect Coyote Calhoun's retirement will have on things. I don't see it knocking WAMZ out of first place or anything like that, but I think the other country music stations may pick up some listeners out of it. I feel like his departure sets the stage for the turning WAMZ into the next generic "iHeartCountryMusic" over time (although in all fairness, I've never actually listened to WAMZ, so maybe they're there now for all I know).

I was being sarcastic when I said that WHAS went up because of the change to 840.College basketball and football probably are the reason they went up.
 
It's possible that GHL could have put a dent in them, but I think it is really just more of a matter of the sports stations (including "840," which a lot of people only listen to for sports) going up.

Speaking of GHL, their playlist has really been spreading a lot lately. One oddity I've been hearing a few times on there is "Smooth" by Santana and Rob Thomas... really? It isn't a bad song, it just seems odd for GHL. And their disco playlist is rather interesting, they are playing disco songs that I never even knew existed (granted I grew up in a post-disco era, but still).
