M*A*S*H GOING TO PRIMETIME ON TV LAND, HOW DOES THIS SHOW GET ON SO MANY NETWORK

The TV Land episodes of MASH are heavily edited. There are whole scenes cut out to make time for more commercials. The episodes on Me-TV are much closer to, maybe exactly the same, as originally aired. On Me-TV I am seeing scenes that I have not seen for years, and in some cases ones that I have never seen before or recognize.

I remember when Hallmark started showing M*A*S*H, they showed 3 episodes in 2 hours, leaving plenty of time for commercials, and they were able to show uncut shows. I didn't mind the commercials as much because I was not missing any of the program. With the crazy way TV LAND times their shows, this might be a better way to program a block of shows without losing content, and without losing commercial revenue.

just scrolled thru my online listings, and although M*A*S*H is on plenty of channels, all of the episodes on all
of them appear to run between 1 and 5 AM.

If you have a local Me-TV sub-channel, they may run it at 6:00, 6:30 and 9:00 PM CDT.

i saw the tv show first but when i saw the movie in 1973 i liked it so much more.thats saying a lot because i really liked the early MASH episodes very much.

the later episodes of MASH no matter how much message is in them i enjoy also .just not as much as the earlier episodes.

no episode of the mash series is as message packed as the movie.the movie really emphasizes the absurd side of war.

Loved the movie.

Disliked (and didn't watch much of) the TV show.
The movie was also R-Rated while the tv show had to go through the TV Standards. The movie was raw and uncensored while the tv show was diluted.

Closer...but probably not exactly the same. Based on the running time of episodes on DVD, episodes from the early seasons of "MASH" ran up to 26 minutes each. In later seasons, that dipped down to 24 1/2 to 25 minutes per episode. If Me-TV is running those episodes with 4 to 5 1/2 minutes of commercials, that would be an unusually light commercial load.

The syndication prints for "MASH" run about 22 minutes, allowing room for eight minutes of commercials. I don't subscribe to cable/satellite, so I don't know what the commercial load is like on TVLand anymore...and (unfortunately) Me-TV doesn't have a DFW affiliate.

Are we in agreement that this "Major Winchester" character is the original Ted McGinley? ;D

Hallmark had a MASH marathon this weekend (which I missed most of because of being out of town), which is the first time I've seen it there in several months. Could it be possible that it could be coming back on a more regular basis there as well?
