We were watching them in the early '70's, too.

In elementary school, she taught me everything I knew (and have since forgotten) about French. That was in the late 60s and early 70s.

I was just thinking about her recently while listening to (and trying to understand) CBC French Radio 102.3 out of Saint John New Brunswick, which comes in well here in DownEast Maine.
I grew up in Pembroke, Mass. in late 50s/early 60s and remember watching her in the 4th and 5th grade at school on WGBH Channel 2 "The Twenty-One-Inch Classroom" as they called themselves waaaaay back then! I always loved the upbeat classical marching music they played for fifteen minutes prior to her show, complete with a timer indicating how long until the show started! Between her and High School French I had to take, i can still understand basic French, enough to get by in Quebec!!
