Major Jim Rome affliate news coming on Monday, could it have something to do with New York City?

Major Jim Rome affliate news coming on Monday, could it have something to do with New York City?

Heard Jim Rome say that there was going to be a major announcement concerning an affliate, and it would affect the surrounding areas.

One of the things I thought of was a shift from a weak 1050 to the mega strong 660 which can be reached up and down the east coast

Bit of an out there speculation of course, but has anyone heard anything?

What surrounding areas?

Might be another market entirely, where Rome may be shifting from one station owned by Premiere's parent Clear Channel to another in the same cluster. I can think of at least two markets, LA and DC, where a shift within the cluster could be part of some larger scale format shuffling, and affect how much of the metro the program reaches. There could be many more that fit that scenario.

I'll go a different direction and say that involves a market like Boston that doesn't yet have the show, or a move from a smaller station to a bigger one - Philly comes to mind - not that I think WIP would get the show, but something along those lines.
______________

Rome is already in Philly on ESPN 920...check his website.

In could very well be in Boston. WAMG AM 890/WLLH AM 1400 is expected to flip from Spanish Tropical to ESPN Radio any second now. I heard the sale of the station closed.
______________

Note I said "or a move from a smaller station to a bigger one" - last I checked, 920 didn't have as big a range nor a rep as 610 - but then again, that was just a completely left field prediction...
______________
