Major sale of AFR stations and CPs to EMF

EMF is buying 7 stations and 11 CPs from American Family Radio. I'm glad to see EMF get these stations. A few years back AFR sold a group of stations to Jimmy Swaggart's organization, which was a big mistake in my opinion.

EMF is also buying WKNQ FM 90.7 in Dyersburg, TN and AFR is buying WKNA FM 89.9 in Senatobia, MS, which were both owned by WKNO-FM 91.1 in Memphis. I'm really surprised at this because these have been NPR stations for decades, and I figured they would never be up for sale.

I'm really hoping that with EMF getting WKNQ that it will open the door to some of their existing K-LOVE stations in West TN changing to Air 1.

I know some people who aren't big K-LOVE fans won't like this, but if it wasn't for them there would be no CCM radio of any kind in my area, and I'm excited about the possibility of Air 1 coming to West TN. ;D

Hope you do get Air-1. With so many Christian radio stations serving your area, and many more coming, it wouldn't suprise me to see Air-1 come to your area.

Hope EMF will bring Air-1 to West Tennessee and give your area, its first full powered CHR based Christian radio station.

Although things may be looking bad for this nation, God is still allowing the Christian media and His Church to expand, grow, get bigger and bolder.

I'm still waiting for Moody to sign on at 89.5 FM, Rev. Glenn King to sign on, at 94.3 FM and 1310 AM and for my dream to work out and locate at 93.3 FM.

We are seeing the hand of God, still working here in America. I'm so excited about the things He's doing and how He's still blessing our nation, although it's getting far away from Him and the Word.

With EMF buying WWMU/Muncie, WRXH/Plymouth, and WHNI/Rochester - I wonder what format they will place on these stations?

They already have a CP in hand for a K-Love translator in Muncie. Because it's a non-reserved band translator, it cannot be satellite fed and is thus limited to carrying K-Love from WOKL/Troy, OH.

Furthermore, WJCF has a CP for a translator, and there is the existing WBCL translator. Plus, WQME must put some kind of a signal into Muncie.

Also, WRXH and WHNI are engulfed by the giant Christian AC signal of WFRN.

I would really like to see EMF go with Air1 for all three of their new stations. Indiana has enough Christian AC already. At least a Hot AC / Adult CHR format like Air1 would be a new option for radio listeners.
