Marcia Wallace (The Bob Newhart Show, Full House, The Simpsons) Dead at 70

This afternoon (October 26th), it was reported by ABC News on an ABC Radio hourly newscast that the producers of "The Simpsons" have decided to "retire" the character of Edna Krabappel, who was voiced by Wallace.

The Bob Newhart Show wouldn't have been nearly as good without her. She kept the pace of the show moving, and often had some of the best lines in the show. R.I.P.

Now the question is that the producers of The Simpsons planned on killing off a character this season - will they shelve that considering Wallace's passing?

Too sad, and it gives one pause to consider how Bob Newhart seems to be outliving all his younger contemporaries. Hmmm wonder what his secret is?

I was thinking, it would just make it easier for them. Either way I don't think the fans will accept a substitute voice. But think of poor Principal Skinner :)

Also "Murphy Brown". After what seemed like hundreds of fired secretaries, she finally found a good one. Then Dr. Hartley showed up and demanded she come back.
