For South Bend Indiana, only one station is licensed to another community, & that's WSJV (Fox) Elkhart Indiana. All other stations, including the 3 Weigel LPTV stations, are licensed to South Bend.
For Milwaukee Wisconsin, the only stations licensed to the suburbs are:
WPXE (Ion) Kenosha Wisconsin (analog transmitter used to be in Franksville, WI in Racine County, while the digital transmitter is in the Milwaukee tower farm)
WMLW (Ind) Racine Wisconsin. I included this one, because while the main channel is independent, a subchannel carries a simulcast of Telemundo, for people who can not pick up WYTU-LD (or is it -CD?).
WWRS (TBN) Mayville Wisconsin. This is the only station in the Milwaukee market that can not locate closer to Milwaukee, due to WCPX Chicago also being on RF 43.
For Chicago, all top 4 network stations are on stations licensed to Chicago. This is what's licensed to the Chicago suburbs:
WPWR-TV (MNT) Gary Indiana (transmits & serves Chicago since it re-signed on in 1987, & reallocated to commercial from non-commercial)
WYIN (PBS) Gary Indiana (one of 3 PBS stations in the Chicago market, & serves NW Indiana over Chicago, & only covers the southern portion of the market, due to the station not being able to afford to relocate to Chicago, but spacing does allow them to do so, since they were approved once by the FCC)
WXFT (unimás) Aurora, IL
WGBO (Univision) Joliet, IL (this station now only serves Chicago, but prior to being sold to Univision in 1994, & their programming moved there on January 1 1995, they served Chicagoland & NW Indiana with their programming, & for NW Indiana, it was mainly for the Hoosier Lottery Show & the Hoosier Lottery drawings, since Chicago stations otherwise refuse to air Hoosier Lottery drawings).
WWTO (TBN) LaSalle, IL. This station is licensed to the Chicago market, but they're much closer to the Peoria Illinois market. This station also is not required to be carried on cable (though some cable systems did add it), due to their signal mainly reaching the western suburbs (satellite refuses to add this station, due to the station not having must carry status, nor has significantly viewed status) . Due to the station's COL being almost 80 miles away from Chicago, they can not locate their signal in Chicago, & provide a 36 DBu signal to LaSalle. If TBN wanted to try & locate closer to Chicago, they might be lucky if they could locate around Joliet, IL.
