Marty and Jodi have a new place of business!

PSAIRCHECKS, could you give a little more detail please. Not being a member of facebook, I can't see his info.

Thanks.

whooooaaaa.. slow down guys. No new morning show on Jack, just the Funnies feature in mornings and afternoons. That's it.

Beginning Monday, December 7th, Marty Riemer and Jodi Brothers are returning with their ever-popular ”Funnies” bringing them to JACK 96.5 FM in Seattle.

For well over a decade the 7:20AM and 5:20PM Funnies hosted by Riemer were appointment listening on 103.7FM The Mountain. Listeners determined where they were in their day based on when the Funnies came on. “If you weren’t already bogged down on I-90 when the morning Funny came on, you knew you were going to miss your manager’s meeting. It was going to be a good day!”

But now the Funnies along with Riemer and Brothers are moving up the dial to forge a new exciting comedic partnership with JACK-FM. Said Riemer, “The on-air Funnies on JACK-FM will be even better than before because, stay calm, we’re doing them A MINUTE EARLIER!” (For some reason he shouted toward the end of that).

“First with the Funniest!” It’s a slogan that, surprisingly, the local TV news stations hadn’t trademarked yet. “So it’s ours,” exclaimed Jodi Brothers who, with Riemer, will be hosting a morning 7:19 Funny and an evening 5:19 Funny every weekday on JACK-FM. Finally order is restored to the world of comedy!

So, they're going to be doing introductions to recorded comedy bits? That's it? Why would KJAQ bother?

Come on cowboys. The only shift on JACKO that doesn't top the ratings every book is mornings so this is testing the waters. Hello??? If the ole benchmarks work then M@J will be on full-time ;D Good move for JACK and good move for them. Why jump in the freezing morning show waters when you can dip your big ole toe in first to see if it's just right 8) If no one tunes in for the funnies or sticks Da MOUNTAIN then why pay the money??? No lose for CBS :D

JACK is number one in mornings in November. Why mess with it? My guess is it is a sales feature that makes some money. Sounds like it is part of a spot break. I guess if you get a sponsor it can't hurt too much. JACK wins because of the anti-jock, all music attitude. In every market where talent has been introduced, the JACK format has declined. San Diego was the biggest drop. In the PPM JACK wins by rolling music. Like Soft AC it is a tough sell though because people use the station as background. The irony is that they get big ratings because they are background and if JACK stations or SOFT AC stations try to stand out they cease to be background and numbers drop. Maybe this is a way to do a little without hurting music emphasis. Seems unnecessary with KJAQ's solid PPM performance and if the feature stands out they may get hurt on the ratings front for a sales feature. I know I tune into JACK for long sweeps of music and tune out during spots, my wife does the same with KRWM. There are plenty of stations to tune to if I want personality. KZOK tops my list, KPLZ for my wife. I tune to JACK or KJR-FM for Music and would find talk and spots annoying. (tough to say for a guy in sales, but the truth)

They should've asked Jay Phillips - he started the "5 O'Clock Funny" back when he was in PM drive on KMTT. Marty Reimer, however, has done a great job of taking ownership of the feature.
