The Carr Fire is more than 28,000 acres as of midnight...mandatory evacuations for many parts of Redding, bumper-to-bumper traffic, and KRCR TV has been evacuated due to safety concerns and the fire getting too close to the studio. KHSL/KNVN's Redding bureau has also been evacuated, the local newspaper is running on practically candles and lanterns as they have lost power.
I'm checking webstreams and I find the following stations OFF THE AIR...
93.3 K227AE/103.1 KHRD 'Red 103.1' - city cut power to xmitter
94.7 KEWB - same
97.3 KNCQ - same
96.1 KKXS (apparently they are still ON THE AIR per locals on facebook and airing wildfire coverage...but no webstream due to power cut)
107.1 KESR - same
98.1 KVIP - Generator lost power at transmitter, still on webstream. Translators receiving the 98.1 signal aren't receiving anything either.
Regular programming
99.3 KWLZ
100.1 KZRO
104.3 KSHA
1670 KQMS (Was in wildfire coverage, now airing George Noory)
106.1 KRRX
107.9 KKLC (assumed unless power is cut...K-LOVE obviously doesn't have a local stream)
Unknown
99.7 KTOR (no stream)
101.1 KWCA (no stream)
102.3 KSIZ (no stream)
105.3 KRDG (no stream)
KNVN-24/KHSL-12 were on the air with live coverage a little while ago.
Stay safe, get out while you can, Redding! I can't imagine what they are going through right now...it reminds me too much of the Fort McMurray wildfires a couple years ago. The winds are awful, the temperatures are *110 PLUS FAHRENHEIT* in the day...who knows how much of the city will be gone before they contain this monster.
