Talk about pure ultra left wing gar barge. The traditional family... a mother, a father, children and a picket fence is not dead. That takes a real commitment which many do not want to do and therefore the high rate of divorce. Your bitterness makes it sound like you are either a product of a divorce or one of the aggrieved in a martial break up. But it is pointless to start the blame game.
Hate to tell you...but statistics don't favor your argument. The numbers are steadily rising.
Almost 33% of American families are single parented. Half of American children will live in a single parent environment at some point in their childhood. 33% of children are born to unmarried parents, and more than half of Americans have been in a stepfamily situation.
I'm a
proud product of a broken home. My father was a complete jerk. My mother raised me on a waitress' pay. And no stronger a woman exists in the world. I'd rather that scenario than the BS "white picket fence" dream world you'd like everyone to believe in. Just because there are two parents, doesn't mean the familial unit is any more valid, or stable. Talk about dispensing propaganda?
It's amazing how those who tout the moral high ground, and the traditional family values are often found to be the most deviant. You need only to look at the recent headlines to see this.
Mr. Vice President's lesbian daughter, and Mr. President's unwed, pregnant daughter ring a bell?
And before you throw me the declining divorce rates, and the return to traditional family values, don't forget that the number of unmarried families has risen at a rate higher than any other familial statistic. Therefore eliminating a good number of divorce cases. If you're unmarried, it's easier to dissolve the relationship...which brings us back to Mr. Brady, and Ms. Moynihan.
Their familial decisions are none of anyone but their business.
Which confirms the non-story nature of your post.
But...you'll continue. Because for some reason. You can't let it go.
