ME-TV CELEBRATES BETTY WHITE'S 90TH BIRTHDAY TUESDAY

On her 90th birthday this Tuesday Me-TV will air 90 minutes of Betty themed episodes from
Mary Tyler Moore................probably her best ones. The shows will start at 8PM Eastern.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Betty.

(No, she isn't my real aunt, but she should be everyone's cool aunt)

NBC has some sort of special too.

I mainly liked her for "Golden Girls" but I look forward to the day "Hot in Cleveland" reruns make it to broadcast TV after seeing a great sample in the mountains in a motel.

She's good in some of her more recent made for TVs too. You should look her up on Password.

The NBC special was pretty good. OMG Mary Tyler Moore looks older than Betty!
Even Carol Burnette looks older.

Betty's funny candid camera like show afterwards was so so. Some parts were a bit
funny and some were more strange.

Mary had surgery last year to remove a benign meningioma tumor lining her brain. Considering all she's been through, she was doing better than I expected.

No "Golden Girls" marathons this week?

The Hallmark Channel presented several episodes in a row between 2:00 PM on Monday and 1:00 AM today (Tuesday).

I sure hope I am as active and look as good at her age.

People get old...at least we hope they get old. Whether they mature and get some grace and character is another matter. The three ladies you cite are three of the good gals - at least they always have been by their actions.

Too bad the Quad Cities will be missing out on this event-- KGCW was listed to carry ME TV with a "possible" start date of yesterday, but we're still wanting as of yet...

Well, the stage was set up for youngsters -- without any type of podium. I made the same observation about Mary and Carol. However, I think it could have been alleviated if they had had someone do their make-up and hair before the show.

It's really too bad that none of the "Golden Girls" are still around. They were missed in the special.

Finally, I had no idea that the guy who plays "Chuck" is 7 feet tall!!! :D

The object may well have been not to upstage Betty White. Class.
