Megan Kelly leaves FOX News for NBC News

Tucker Carlson is a moderate? Only when compared to Hannity. Or Attila the Hun. :D

Yes, I should have said "a moderate conservative". He has not come out against gay marriage, and he has not come out against Obamacare, as far as I can tell. I believe he is fiscally conservative, and I tend to agree on that point.

MSNBC to Fox. Wow. Though Tucker is somewhat of a moderate. Probably a good fit.
Tucker has already been hosting an hour on Fox that's just moving to a more plum timeslot. (And his MSNBC stint was ages ago, I think before Olbermann became the face of the network and when MSNBC still wasn't sure what it wanted to be. At least his hosting stint was, I don't know if he's contributed to MSNBC more recently off the top of my head.)

Interestingly this article managed to connect WKRC's affiliate switch from Fox News Radio to NBC News Radio to yes the contract decisions of Megyn Kelly and NBC.

However WKRC is a Iheart Owned station and their contract reason to switch from Fox News Radio to NBC News Radio was to go in house distribution. NBC News Radio is produced and owned by Iheart staff and other Iheart Talk stations use that for national content for news.

However the article clearly says the two things are "a coincidence."

TTBOMK, Fox News Radio is still being distributed by iHeart.

A nightly primetime hour in exchange for weekly primetime and a daily daytime slot can reasonably be characterized as a lateral move or a step down.

She clearly preferred it as she decided to move.

A primetime hour on NBC is not a step down. Though one could argue that hosts of this block have not all advanced to greater levels within NBC. Chris Hansen comes to mind. But so does Lester Holt. So the jury is out.
Right. Despite the fact that the broadcast networks have lost considerable audience share due to all the inroads made by cable channels and the internet, the Big 4 networks still dominate the ratings, for the most part.

Huge shakeup at ‘Today’ to make way for Megyn Kelly

NBC is canceling the third hour of “Today” to make way for new star Megyn Kelly, sources exclusively confirm to Page Six.

We’re told Kelly will take over either the 9 a.m. hour from Tamron Hall and Al Roker or will replace Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.

“If she takes over Hoda and Kathie Lee’s 10 a.m. hour, they will move to the 9 a.m. hour,” an insider said.

We hear Hall will be leaving the network next month when her contract is up. Roker will continue his 7-to-9 a.m. duties.

Kelly will start in September.

Hmmm...wonder if the goal is for Kelly to continue with the hard news focus, or if she'll be more of the happy talk that had been the focus during this time.

Editorial from FTV live

Recently, NBC has been hiring high profile talent from Fox; Greta Van Susteren and Megyn Kelly.

According to Page Six, insiders are saying NBC head honcho Andy Lack wants to make NBC and MSNBC, the next Fox News.

NBC is denying any shift in their approach. Reportedly a rep said, "The only thing Andy Lack is 'tilting toward' is even more good journalism."

From where we sit, MSNBC has a long way to go, before it consistently threatens Fox News.

Aw, darn! And I won't be contributing to her salary with Comcast/NBC Universal overcharges.
