'Memphis' Mark Billingsly in critical condition following on-air aneurysm

From Steve West on RadioInsight:

For those who haven’t heard yet, Memphis Mark Billingsly, a fixture of WGKX “Kix 106” for about two decades, suffered a brain aneurysm, literally in the middle of his Monday show. He has been in the hospital ever since, with family and friends by his side.

From what I’ve been told, doctors had to perform a surgical proceedure to relieve pressure on his brain, and apparently he has suffered 4 or 5 strokes this week.

There has been an outpouring of love on social media, with longtime friends Brian Elder and Andy Drew Montgomery writing about their ‘best friend’. Kix PD Kay Manley expressed her love to Mark and his family, and friends have been posting all day for the past 24 hours since Elder’s first post describing Billingsly’s condition.

The prognosis is not good, but all are praying for a speedy and hopefully complete recovery.

Mark Billingsly’s collegues are the first to say that he has touched so many lives in such a positive way, from being a great listener, to being hilariously funny, to just bringing a smile to the lives of whomever he came in contact with. He is greatly loved and in need of much prayer. We hope for a miracle.
