The "FM News" branding in Chicago is as good as gone. Will "FM News 101.9" become "I101.9" or will they stick it out with the former WINS talent a little while longer? And if the latter, will it really be worth it?
[I would really want to see Merlin going out of business like the way Big City did this back in 2003 Whee they lost "Thumbs 107" WYNY as a Spanish station that went nowhere after dumping Country. Like I said, Merlin will go out of business soon/quote]
That's a real dumb comment. Remember that there are people who eat, put a roof over their heads and provide for their families because Merlin exists right now.
Think about that next time you shoot your mouth off about wanting a company to go under. What if someone "would really want to see" your employer go out of business.
Sometimes people don't think on these boards about the implications of what they say, and that there are real people involved at ALL levels at these radio stations. Sure there's a CEO, but there are producers, board-ops, anchors, reporters, engineers, sales people and support staff that all derive a paycheck from the operation.
How about wishing them to fix the business and keep as many people employed as possible in the process???
