I guess radio stations make money when selling big sponsorships ... not sure if this year there will be big sponsorships sold, though.MsMusicRadio said:I guess I'm confused. Why do you need anybody to do promotions for a station on auto-pilot? I presume that the idea is to cut costs. Do events like at Coachman Park make money? If you get rid of everybody, you could use the janitor to do promotions. Sirius , I presume, doesn't do promotions and isn't that "THE FUTURE" ? My New Years prediction is that radio will eventually be just feeds of various formats like on Bright House Cable. I know plenty of people who prefer that on in the house to terrestial radio.
I know what it is like to be downsized ( twice) so obviously I hope I understand what these people feel. In my field , you let people go and just give whomever is left double the caseload. Instead of 7 hour airshifts, we got 150 foster care cases. Good luck to those let go. I was let go by a St.Petersburg Agency in April by a letter to my home telling me not to come back as my job is gone. I guess someone will work in my current field as there will always be addictions and I guess something or somebody has to let the music flow.

JoJo was a good air talent with the ability to take over for Mason and make the show still fun. 3. Rico has been Mason's right hand man since way back. Why in the hell would management take a recipe like that morning show and add different ingredients. If it works don't try to fix it. Radio used to be fun when I worked in it. Interact with the listeners. Now they are like a bunch of robots waiting to be dismantled and sold as junk. CBS is making a grave error with this move. Mike Reeves I'm sure is licking his chops waiting for Mason to resign so he can step in as morning show guy. He in my opinion is a hack that should be selling cars at Bond Auto mart. This is pretty much the end of radio in the bay area as we know it. Merry Christmas Q-staff. Your dedication has paid off with a pink slip before X-mas. By the way.. Did they kiss you before they bent you over? Peace On Earth!
