Savage and Beck used to be amusing, because they got the entertainment factor. So did Limbaugh initially. The format got too serious, too angry and too unhinged and painted itself into a corner. I don't know what exactly broke them (and it's probably a political topic not suited for this board, but one can guess what happened around 2008 and draw their own conclusions.)
But I loved talk radio in the 90s. Wider range of viewpoints, calls, and more entertainment. Can't even find any hosts still doing that style in the US these days, apart from maybe KMBZ (which is mostly non political) and WWL in New Orleans. Both Audacy stations, which is part of why I'm concerned the new CEO will get too "efficient" and mess with their success. Sure can find a lot of third rate Rush wannabes though.
