Looks like WPLJ's move to younger, more rhythmic music has caused some of their core suburban audience to switch over to CBS-FM and Q104 instead. I'm sure Nash-FM has bled off some of their listeners as well.

And the political talk stations, especially WABC, are all doing worse than ever. Rush and the gang are fading into irrelevance. But will the AM stations follow NJ101.5's model of live, local, non-political talk before it's too late?

Talk can survive but it has to change and needs to be relevant.

Snowden has been the big story for weeks but Limbaugh, Hannity and company are in agreement with President Obama and want to put Snowden away in prison for the rest of his life. No one in media or the government for that matter has taken the position of the 99% of Americans that what Snowden did is a good thing and exposed a government doing very bad things and violating the constitution. The only person in media that has taken the public's side is Alex Jones and for the most part he is only on the internet.

It's because Limbaugh, Hannity and company won't talk the real issues that the public (most seniors) has grown tired.
