Midwest Storms Knock ‘Michigan Radio’ WUOM Off Air.

Widespread storms throughout the Midwest have caused power outages and related damages, knocking Michigan Public Media news/talk “Michigan Radio” WUOM Ann Arbor (91.7) off the air.

“WUOM has lost power and is off the air. Our generator also failed,” a web post read. “We're working on getting it fixed, but don't have an estimated repair time.”

WUOM is also simulcast on WRSX Detroit (91.3) and WVGR Grand Rapids (104.1).

Audacy “NewsRadio 950” WWJ Detroit reports that more than 750,000 homes and businesses were impacted by storm-related power outages in Lower Michigan as of Thursday morning (Aug. 12). The biggest clusters of outages were west of the city. Large outages were also reported in Farmington, Farmington Hills, Westland, Canton, Garden City, Inkster and the Mt. Clemens area of Harrison Township.
