Mike Francesa 'desperately' wants to return to New York radio | Back to WFAN?

How bad does he want it? Will he take less money? I think not.

Or is he just hoping this will drive up his price?

He might get that kind of money from one of the syndicated sports nets. But no guarantee it'll air in NYC.

I'd read in two different places where he did agree to a pay cut.

Also in two places where he'd be working shorter hours.

(Fwiw : I must be one of those rare people who enjoy reading Phil Mushnick and hearing the occasional Francesa show :- )

I loved Mike and the Mad Dog. Francesa alone is insufferable. The best days of the year with Mike and Chris used to be the first two days of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, back when CBS had exclusive rights and was obligated to feed the NYC area the first-round games of one-and-done no-hopers like Fairfield, St. Peter's and Manhattan -- to their conclusion -- at the expense of other games in which upsets were unfolding. Russo would scream "Why are they showing us this, Mike? It's unwatchable! Bad job, CBS, bad job! We should be seeing the end of the Georgetown game!" And Mike would explain, yet again, why CBS was doing what it was doing. Two guys watching TV and talking about it on the radio -- now THAT was entertainment!

And mike f. Is going to sports night at viscardi center

WFAN has confirmed Francesca will return to PM drive starting May 1, via TALKERS.

You don't pay three (!!!) people to host a two hour show. There's no way that schedule sticks for an extended length of time.
