Mike Mcconnell seems like a waste of talent in that early AM slot

Years ago I listened but stopped after it became flooded with snippet-radio with no flow due to the randomness.

I don't listen still for the same reasons I didn't listen to Jim Scott.

Hope they can find a better slot for Mike. Like 9-noon or 3-6, which both currently fail to hold my interest.

Well, unless there have been declines in the rating since Jim Scott retired, I doubt they will move him out of the 6-9AM slot. McConnell is basically doing the Jim Scott show with the same format and guests. I do miss him interacting with callers though which he can't do in morning drive.

He gets in his take on some things in short snippets, but it is still the WLW morning show. News/weather/sports/traffic/commercials/features. I do hope 8-9 can become a little closer to a talk hour. Still, I can see The Big One not making a jarring wholesale change all at once.

The only issue I have with Mike is that during almost every single time check he has to add "in the morning".

By now we know he's hosting the morning show. No need to say that, and it's a crutch for him. Aircheck time!

It's Not as bad as all of the on air talent saying the Call Letters 10 times an hour. And why the need for a time check in this day and age with everyone having a smart phone? It's 2015 not 1995.

Not much of a fan of his - but happened to tune in this a.m. where I noticed he had an interview with Rand Paul and it was broken into segments. I think that is a good idea to get more substance in the show: have more interviews that are segmented within an hour. Also - he should ditch that Bloomberg report/propaganda with that Secora (not sure spelling) woman. That is painful. The local Business Courier is a good segment - increase the local info.

The Bloomberg piece is probably sponsored, as are a lot of the short segments. For Mike, I'm sure it beats unemployment

Mike is definitely at his best when working with callers.

I hope they can get him out of that time slot. I'm just not a fan of that morning format, at all.
