Top 5+ demo rankings analysis from Research Director, Inc./XTrends:

25-54: 1. KSTP 2. KXXR 3T. KFXN 3T. KTIS 5. KDWB 7. KEEY
18-34: 1. KDWB 2T. KEEY 2T. KQQL 4. KSTP 5T. KZJK 5T. KXXR
18-49: 1. KSTP 2. KXXR 3. KTIS 4. KFXN 5. KZJK 6. KDWB

I have to wonder if KQRS got their processing fixed, how much (if any) increase would they get?
I'm not sure it'd get much. I think the bigger struggle is trying to get 93X listeners to "grow into" KQRS. At this stage in the "Shift" of classic rock, KQ should be playing a mix of 80's and 90's music (similar to KSHE in St Louis), something that would appeal to the 25-54 demo, but KQ is still firmly stuck in the 80s, and 93X still plays too many 90s tracks to really leave "room" for KQ to start shifting. If you look at more successful classic rock stations, they seem to play mostly 80's and 90s, with maybe a handful of 70's power hits mixed in.

Then again, they program KCFX in KC very similar to how they program KQRS here, and that station is still quite successful, but KQRC is not as successful as 93X (and they also have a full-fledged Alt Rock likely splitting a lot of the "rock" audience there vs here).

My hearing might be off, but today, KQ is still loud, but it appears the distortion is not as bad as it was.
Whenever the morning show was on, the mics were clipped.
