Miss Virginia, but not Miss North Carolina or even Miss South Carolina?

The My Network station in Charlotte aired the Miss Virginia pageant. WHY? Even the Miss North Carolina pageant can't get live coverage. Furthermore, My TV 12 at least has an excuse to air Miss South Carolina (licensed to Rock Hill, so able to show drawings, ads and results of the S.C. Lottery), but as far as I know it didn't. I know it wasn't live.

I would guess the folks in Virginia bought the time. I'm sure the My Network people sells plenty of time to infomercial clients and TV preachers. This is the same type of situation, the Virginia organization was willing to write a check and the NC people aren't willing to pay. Another theory would be someone at the Charlotte TV station has very close ties to Virginia (maybe a relative was in the contest) and wanted to run the beauty contest.
